The Caregivers’ Group: will meet  Sunday, June 4, at 1:30 in the Library. This is a small group of friends who meet every month to exchange ideas, listen, and support each other through a difficult time of caring for an invalid loved one. All are welcome. If you have questions, see Marjorie Gibbs or call 580-1772.

God Talk With the Pastors: Join us on Wednesdays around 11am for our Facebook live discussion centered on the weekly study guide. Our pastors engage the text, each with their creative perspective, to offer insightful twists on classical understandings.

UMM Lunches: This week we will be meeting Monday at Applebee’s and Thursday at Ninety Nine at noon.

 Pints w/the Pastor: Join us at West Side Sports Bar & Grill, 112 Congress St for our next gathering this Thursday, May 25th at 7:00pm.

 Pancake Breakfast Next Week (June 4): Have breakfast at church and support the mission team at the same time with your free-will contribution. The proceeds from the pancake breakfast will partially pay for some of the expenses associated with our annual mission trip to Maine. Serving will begin at 8:00am and will end at 10:30am. Thank you in advance for your support.

Maine Mission Trip:  If you would like to be a part of this summer’s trip the week of August 20th, please see Betsy or David Gibbs by June 14th. New participants are welcome. Youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent. Financial aid is available.

Golf League:: We welcome you to join the SSUMC Golf League. We play at Windy Hills (in Greenwich) on Tuesdays at 8:30am. This is a fun, casual league for all levels. For additional information, please contact Donna Bjork at 587-6466 or email her at dlbjork1@msn.com. Come and play when you can!

Book Club Resumes: Pastor Heather’s book club returns starting on Tuesday, May 30th at 7:00pm. The meeting place has changed. We will gather at UMC West, 70b Beekman Street. The book selection is “On Which Side of the Road do Flowers Grow?” by Wendel Mettey. All are welcome to attend!

Fresh Start Worship: The purpose of Fresh Start is to encourage fellowship and celebrate God’s healing power while working towards recovery from life’s Hurts, Habits, and Hang-ups. It can be added (not replace) to any other recovery process or group you are currently attending. Join us every Sunday evening at 6:00pm in the Adkins Room to make your Fresh Start!

American Flag: Mike Bittel will be traveling to Syracuse this Friday, May 26th for an American flag retirement ceremony. Speak to Mike if you have a torn or tattered flag for him to bring to the ceremony.

Backstretch Workers: Center United in Nolan House (next to the Presbyterian Church) is open for business during the racing season. The workers are arriving daily. We are in need of jeans, warm jackets, gloves, hats, t-shirts, sturdy shoes, socks, blankets, pillows, curtains, towels, housewares, small appliances and toiletries. A collection box marked “Backstretch” is in a corner of Fellowship Hall. Contact Phyllis Frederick with any questions/ donations 584-8954.

Vacation Bible School: at SSUMC is July 10th-14th from 9:00am to 11:30am. Fliers and registration forms are available now on the Children’s Table in the Narthex.
