‘All Are Welcome Here’ Walk and Vigil:  A walk of silence on August 24th from 6:00 to 8:00pm to educate the public about the part immigrants play in our lives and to show support and gratitude to them. Starting from 3 locations (Union Ave, Beekman St and N. Broadway), walkers will gather at the Spirit of Life in Congress Park for a closing program of spoken word and song. UMM Lunches: This week we will be meeting Monday at Applebee’s and at Embury Cafe on Thursday both at noon.

Please Support Our Annual Trip to Maine: Our trip begins next Sunday, August 20th so this is our last call for your support. You may donate cash, backpacks or Walmart gift cards. Gift cards can be left in the mission mailbox in the church office. Backpacks may be left on the shelves in the Mission Corner of Fellowship Hall. Habitat for Humanity: They are creating a ReStore in Saratoga County and they need volunteers to get it ready for a September opening. Immediate painting, organizing, installing light fixtures, picking up donations, landscaping, etc. and future sales, greeters, loaders, merchandisers, cleaners, office support, etc. The location is 1373 Rt. 9 Moreau. Monday Night Readers: The group is taking a summer break. They will resume on Monday evening, September 11 at 7:00pm at UMC West. The book selected for reading and discussion is “Beyond Belief: The Secret Gospel of Thomas” by Elaine Pagels. You can order a copy of the book from Amazon. All are welcome.

Fresh Start Worship: The purpose of Fresh Start is to encourage fellowship and celebrate God’s healing power while working towards recovery from life’s Hurts, Habits, and Hang-ups. It can be added to (not replace) any other recovery process or group you are currently attending. Join us every Sunday evening at 6:00pm in the Adkins Room to make your Fresh Start!

Backstretch Workers: A warm thank you to all who have so very generously contributed goods for the backstretch workers this season!!! We carry on at Center United, in the Nolan House (next to the Presbyterian Church), 24 Circular Street until November. UMC West: We are collecting spiritual and self-help books to populate the bookshelves in our new space. If you have books that you are willing to donate, please see the Pastors or Paul Sweet.

Bulletin Announcements: If you have items you want included in the Sunday bulletin, including summer music selections, please send them to, no later than the Wednesday prior to the Sunday you wish your items to appear.

Summer Worship Schedule: Our summer worship schedule continues today with Fellowship Time at 9:00am and one service at 10:00am. Our regular schedule of two services at 9:00am and 10:45am with Fellowship Time between the two services resumes on Sunday, September 10th.

Summer Office Hours: The summer hours for the church office are 9:00am to 2:00pm Monday through Thursday. The office will be closed on Fridays. The regular office hours of 9:30am to 1:30pm Monday through Friday will return Tuesday, September 5th.
