Key Verse: “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Look, the young woman is with child and shall bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel.”(Isaiah 35:10)
Matthew reminds the people of these prophetic words – words that have been cherished by the Christian Tradition.
In God’s deep love for humanity God continues to reach out to us through the generations. How are you reaching back to God this Advent Season? Key Verse: “All this took place to fulfill what had been spoken by the Lord through the prophet: “Look, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel, ”which means, “God is with us.’” (Matthew 1:22)
This news comes to Joseph in a dream. Have you had encounters with the movement of the Spirit you just can’t explain? How much love must God have for humanity to come be like one of us?
This is the Fourth Sunday in Advent – the Sunday of love embraced. May love find its way to your heart as you prepare to make room for the coming of Emmanuel, God with us!
