Please read Matthew 10:40-42 and use these notes to prepare for Sunday morning worship.

Sermon Focus: Creative Connection- Creative Hospitality

Key Verse: “Whoever welcomes you welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me.” (Matthew 10:40)

  • Can you recall a time when you were extended gracious hospitality? What was done or said that made you feel so welcome?
  • In our daily lives we have many opportunities to extend creative hospitality to one another. As you go throughout your day keep this idea of welcoming even the stranger in your midst.

Key Verse:  “and whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones in the name of a disciple—truly I tell you, none of these will lose their reward.” (Matthew 10:42)

  • Who are the little ones Jesus is referring to in this passage?
  • Is there someone you can think of that could use the gift of hospitality?

Creative hospitality invites us to go out of our way to welcome others in the house of worship and in our very presence.  This act of welcoming another connects us to the very heart of God who longs for all to feel the creative hospitality that Jesus embodied.
