Sermon Focus: Knowing and No-ing
Key Verse: “In the morning, while it was still very dark, he got up and went out to a deserted place, and there he prayed.” Mark 1: 35
- In this passage Jesus models prayer, in what ways do you pray? How often? What does prayer mean to you?
- What do you think it means to “know?” What does it mean to know God?
- How do work to know God better? What be different about your prayer life if you were seeking to know God?
Thoughts for Today:
Jesus was a busy guy, preaching and healing and traveling all over the place. But even he took time regularly to be alone with the Father, to clarify his mission and priorities. We have to be prepared to say no to some things, to be more intentional and aware of what we are doing and why.
