Please read Romans 8:12-25 and use these notes to prepare for Sunday morning worship.

Sermon Focus: Resurrection Today: Redemption

Key Verse: “For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children of God; for the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and will obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.” (Romans 8:19-21)

  • What do you think creation longs for us to reveal?
  • How can we help set creation free?

Key Verse:  “For in hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what is seen? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.” (Romans 8:24-25)

  • The Scripture says that we, like creation, wait for redemption.
It is by hope we find that redemption.
  • What are you hoping for this Easter Season?
  • Are there places in your life that need hope and patience while
you wait for the redemption that we all long for?

Connection for Today:

This season of Easter we long for the redemption of our lives and of all creation.  Resurrection today means that we believe God also longs for us to be redeemed into the very image of the one who created us.  This God of life and creation works in our lives and in the world for a better way – one of healing and hope, life and redemption.
