Sermon Focus: Live By Faith
Key Verse: “The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd.”
How is faith fundamental in your existence?
How is your faith distinguishable from the crowd?
Key Verse: “So don’t sit around on your hands! No more dragging your feet! Clear the path for long-distance runners so no one will trip and fall, so no one will step in a hole and sprain an ankle. Help each other out. And run for it!”
Where is your path leading? And what is on your path that may need to be removed?
How can you be helpful to someone else who is trying to run their race of faith?
Faith is a journey – a cross country run rather than a sprint to the finish line. It is an on going race of discernment trying to wrestle our way to look, act, and live more like Jesus, the one who runs before us. May we each take time this week to discern the ways our lives reflect a life of faith, a life like Jesus.
