Please read Isaiah 11: 1-10 and Matthew 3: 1-12 and use these notes to prepare for Sunday morning worship.

Sermon Focus: Coming soon: Hope

Key Verse: He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide by what his ears hear;  but with righteousness he shall judge the poor and decide with equity for the meek of the earth.”(Isaiah 11:4)

How much time do we spend judging one another?

What if we tried to refrain from judging and live in
righteousness and deal in equity?

Key Verse:  In those days John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness of Judea, proclaiming,  “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” This is the one of whom the prophet Isaiah spoke when he said,

“The voice of one crying out in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.’” (Matthew 2:1-3)

What do you need to repent from and how can
you prepare the way for the Lord?

This is the Second Sunday in Advent – the Sunday of hope revealed.  May hope find its way to your heart as you prepare to make room for the coming of Emmanuel, God with us!
