Pamela

Pamela Easler moved to NY from the mountains of NC in 2013, and has complained about winter ever since!  Her former careers include 15 years as vocal/choral faculty in 3 colleges and 11 years in public schools in Spartanburg, SC.  She has taught at every level, from kindergarten through college.  Concurrently, she has served 10 congregations as music director  (variously directing children’s choirs, handbell choirs, and vocal choirs ranging in size from 12 to 50—there’s always room for a few more!  Come join us!).
At SSUMC, Pamela has sponsored various new vocal and bell ensembles, including AcaBella (chime/vocal/piano ensemble), Canticum Novum (men’s ensemble), God’sBells (a second handbell choir), and Cantare (a small madrigal ensemble).  She directs the Chancel Choir, Chancel Ringers, and Joyful Hope Choir. She offers Music in March each year, a 4-Sunday series for those who wish to learn to read music.  Occasionally a fall series of voice classes is also available for ages 8 through 98!
Pamela’s two daughters are teachers, both residing in Greenville, SC with their husbands (she says she has won the Son-in-Law Sweepstakes TWICE) and two adorable granddaughters—she spends her summer vacation singing and dancing with Bea and Sadie!  When not begging people to join a choir, she can be found in her extensive yard with Scott Root, digging in the dirt, singing to the tomatoes, and sharing flowers with friends.
