Please read Luke 18: 8-14 and use these notes with the sermon.

Sermon Focus: Disciples Don’t Judge

Key Verse: Luke 18: 11 “The Pharisee, standing by himself, was praying thus, ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people: thieves, rogues, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.”
What labels, such as those in this verse, do we create for people
whom we willingly or unwillingly separate ourselves from?
Do you believe that today’s culture has improved at all from the
time of Pharisees ?
In what ways do we express judgment today, maybe without
even saying a word?
Key Verse: Luke 18: 14b “for all who exalt themselves will be humbled, but all who humble themselves will be exalted.”
What does it look like to be humble versus exalted?
How does judging others affect humbleness?
Thinking on your own life, how have you been humble? How have
you been self-exalting? What helps you to remain humble?
