Please read Jeremiah 29: 1, 4-7 and use these notes to prepare for Sunday morning worship.

Sermon Focus: Make the Most of Babylon

Key Verse: These are the words of the letter that the prophet Jeremiah sent from Jerusalem to the remaining elders among the exiles, and to the priests, the prophets, and all the people, whom Nebuchadnezzar had taken into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon.

The people found themselves in a foreign land with new laws
and ways of being in the world.  This was their exile from all
that was familiar.  What would exile look for you?

Key Verse:  But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.”

Welfare is the state of doing well especially in respect to

good fortune, happiness, well-being, or prosperity. What

does well-being look like for you?  And your neighbors?

How have you sought the welfare of your city?

How would the welfare of the city impact and influence your own
welfare?
