Please read Acts 16:16-34 to prepare for Sunday morning worship.

Sermon Focus: “Jailer Becomes a Liberator”

Key Verse: The jailer called for some lights, rushed in, and fell trembling before Paul and Silas.  He led them outside and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” They answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” They spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house.  At the same hour of the night he took them and washed their wounds; then he and his entire family were baptized without delay.  (Acts 16:31-33)

  • To take home your former prisoners and tend to their wounds really puts a new perspective on Jesus words “I was in prison and you visited me.” Is it still possible to hear God’s word inspired from an unlikely source?
  • Have you been challenged by hearing and/or seeing God’s word?

In a world that is currently so polarized by us and them thinking, how can you open your heart and mind to hear and see God at work in places we least expect God’s Spirit to move our lives into action?  When we do, we too become transformers in the world.
